Coach Matthew Hensley is a former MLB Pitcher who was born and raised in San Diego. He is a Patrick Henry High School alum, and was drafted as a pitcher out of Grossmont Junior College. Having been mostly a hitter his whole career, Matthew converted to a full-time pitcher after getting hit in the eye with a baseball in his 2nd year at Grossmont. He spent a decade playing professional baseball, and made full comebacks after two arm related injuries and surgeries. He strongly believes in arm care and the dedication and commitment to the process of conditioning an athlete to achieve his highest level of play.
He is the former Varsity Pitching Coach at La Jolla Country Day School and has run Hensley Baseball for 13+ years. He is well known in the travel ball community for helping his players become some of the top talented players in the country-- several of whom are playing in the Major League now! He is excited to open PSF in the neighborhood he grew up in and looks forward to safely training and developing baseball players to their highest abilities, using technology and his experience.
